About Us

Formerly the Montana Power Employees Federal Credit Union and EnerGComm Federal Credit Union, NorthWestern Energy Employees Federal Credit Union was organized on April 14, 1974. Today it meets the financial needs of employees in the energy and communications fields, along with those who have retired or have made an employment change, but retained membership. NorthWestern Energy Employees FCU also has several SEG’s (small employee groups) included in our field of membership. Check Membership Eligibility for more information. Credit unions are non-profit financial cooperatives owned and operated by its members.

They exist to serve their members. As not-for-profit institutions, we are unique in the financial world. We are dedicated to the credit union motto: “Not for profit, not for charity, but for service.” This is the key difference between credit unions and other types of financial institutions. Even with all the restructuring and changing our sponsor company has gone through, it has not altered our relationship with our members. Remember, once a member, always a member.
